Kim Woo Young is devoted to capturing the changing urban landscape due to city planning and development. With an undergraduate degree in city planning, the pho-tographer is keen on city plans and urban development, and their impact on urban life. His photography contains the past, the present, and the imagined future of Seoul's urban development. He finds urban structures that contain traces of time and raises a question on the meaning of urban development and how we, as the city's residents, should respond to it.

Photographer Kim Woo Young captures, through his unique angle, spaces that have changed with the passage of time. The art he pursues focuses on the traces of time and the subsequent artificial changes that they bring to a space. It is a process of identifying the inherent history and beauty in this passage. He perseveres for a long time before he finally clicks the shutter - he waits for the right moment when the traces of time accumulate to compose a narrative. His photography is carved with traces of life that existed in the fast-changing urban landscape, in which certainty and uncertainty, the familiar and the unfamiliar, and the visible and the invisible coexist.
